Privacy policy

thinksimple is run by ThinkSimple Pty Ltd in Australia. We find problems small business owners have, and put up early-access pages (at thinksimple.app and <name>.thinksimple.app) to see whether people want a product before we build it. This policy explains what we collect on those pages, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we collect
When you join an early-access list. Your email address; your answer to the question about what you use today, if you give one; which page you signed up on; the page that linked you there and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example, that you came from a Google ad); and the time.
When you submit a problem on thinksimple.app. What you write and, if you give it, your email address.
When you visit an early-access page. Once you interact with the page (scroll, tap or type), we record one visit per browser session: the page, the page that linked you there, campaign tags in the link, your browser's user-agent string, and the country and network operator your connection comes from (provided by our host, Cloudflare). We use this to count real visitors and filter out automated traffic. We don't store your IP address.
Cookies and similar. The pages store a flag in your browser's session storage so a visit is only counted once, and our own team's browsers carry a cookie so our visits aren't counted. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
How we use it
- To email you about early access to the product you signed up for, and nothing else.
- To reply to a problem you submitted, if you left an email address.
- To measure which problems and pages people are interested in, including how many visitors and signups each ad brings.
We don't sell your information, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who handles it
Our pages and database are hosted by Cloudflare, which may store and process the data outside Australia. We advertise some pages with Google Ads. If you reach a page from an ad, Google handles that click under Google's privacy policy. We only receive the campaign tags in the link, never your Google account details.
How long we keep it
We keep signups and submissions while we're testing or building the idea they relate to. Ask us and we'll delete your details at any time.
Our Google Ads tool and Google user data
We run a small internal tool, shown as "thinksimple ads" on Google's sign-in screen, that our own team uses to manage thinksimple's own Google Ads account through the Google Ads API. It isn't offered to the public, and nobody outside our team signs in to it.
- What it accesses: with the Google Ads permission (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords), the campaigns, ad groups, keywords, ads and budgets in our own Google Ads account, and their performance figures (impressions, clicks, cost, ad review status). - How it uses it: to create, pause and set budgets for our own ad campaigns, and to show each campaign's results on our private dashboard.
- What it stores: campaign IDs, status and budgets, and daily impressions, clicks and cost per campaign, in our own database. The sign-in token is kept only on the computer that runs the tool.
- Sharing: we don't share, sell or transfer any data received from Google APIs to anyone, and don't use it for anything other than managing and reporting on our own ads.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove the tool's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
